Tsuchoi, a 24-year-old athlete from the remote village of Kusong near Noklak, Nagaland, has emerged as a rising star in the world of sports. Her incredible journey from humble beginnings to becoming the ‘Outstanding Sportswoman’ at the 2024 Northeast Olympic Games is a testament to her unwavering dedication and talent.

Growing up in a farming family, Tsuchoi faced many challenges but never let them dampen her passion for sports. From a young age, she actively participated in school and village sporting events, showcasing her natural athleticism. Despite the responsibilities of helping care for her four younger siblings, Tsuchoi remained committed to honing her skills.

Over the years, Tsuchoi has claimed the title of best athlete an impressive five times at both district and state levels. Her versatility is evident in the fact that she has participated in 14 different state-level events, consistently pushing herself to excel in various disciplines.

The 2024 Northeast Olympic Games served as a defining moment for Tsuchoi, where she truly shone on the big stage. By clinching six medals, including the prestigious ‘Outstanding Sportswoman’ title, she not only made her mark but also put Noklak on the sporting map.

Tsuchoi’s achievements are not limited to the Northeast region. She has represented Nagaland at the National Level Women Sports Competition in Jammu & Kashmir and even secured a bronze in the 3000m and a silver in the 800m medley relay at the East Zone National Athlete Championship in Jharkhand.
