Nagaland’s Wokha District Administration has made history, scooping up the prestigious Gold Award in the National Awards for e-Governance Scheme 2023-2024. This groundbreaking achievement marks the first time an initiative from the state has received such a distinguished honour, putting Nagaland firmly on the map of digital innovation.
The accolade was bestowed upon the district at the 27th National Conference on e-Governance in Mumbai on 3 September 2024. Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, presented the award, underscoring Nagaland’s commitment to harnessing technology for efficient governance and improved public service delivery.
At the heart of this success story is the Wokha SAATHI (Smart AI-based Assistant for Timely Help & Interface) WhatsApp Chatbot. This cutting-edge project has seamlessly integrated over 40 services under a single platform, providing residents with round-the-clock access to vital information and services. The AI-powered chatbot not only offers timely assistance but also serves as a user-friendly interface, facilitating proactive Information Education Campaigns (IECs) through two-way communication between the government and citizens.
