30 August marked a significant milestone for the Tzüsapang sector in Mokokchung Village: its 25th anniversary. The Silver Jubilee celebration, themed “Telungjem Ajanga Tejakleni” or “Progressing Together in Unity”, showcased the sector’s enduring harmony and collective achievements.
The event, held at the Community Hall, was attended by T. N. Mannen, IAS (Retd.), who currently advises on Law & Justice and Land Revenue. Mannen, a resident of the Tzüsapang sector, highlighted the unique unity within the community. He noted that the sector is a microcosm where people from all six Ao ranges and various communities coexist peacefully, free from divisions or discrimination. This unity, he emphasised, is crucial for fostering peace of mind and promoting goodwill among residents.
Mannen reflected on the sector’s journey over the past quarter-century, acknowledging the significant progress and achievements made. He encouraged the community to look forward with ambition, striving for greater accomplishments in the years to come. Mannen urged every resident to take pride in their sector and work together to enhance both social bonds and infrastructure.

Mannen also paid tribute to American missionaries for their pivotal role in fostering unity among the Ao tribe. Before the missionaries arrived, Ao villages were often in conflict and isolated from one another. The missionaries helped instil a spirit of peace and harmony, enabling the Ao people to live together amicably.
Founded in 1999 under the jurisdiction of the Mokokchung village Jungli Kosa Sanger Putu Menden, the Tzüsapang sector is the second oldest among the seven sectors surrounding Mokokchung village. This milestone celebration underscores the sector’s commitment to unity and progress, setting a positive example for other communities.
