On September 11, 2024, thirty students from Government High School, Dilong, in Mokokchung participated in a significant health awareness initiative. This event was part of the “100 Days Special Awareness Campaign” under SANKALP: HEW, organised by the District Administration and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) – Mission Shakti, in collaboration with Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mokokchung.
The students visited Dr. Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH) and Urban Primary Health Care (UPHC), Yimyu. At IMDH, the students were given a comprehensive tour of the various specialist units, providing them with a firsthand look at the healthcare facilities available.
Following the hospital visit, the students attended an awareness programme at UPHC Yimyu. This programme focused on adolescents’ health management and menstrual hygiene, crucial topics for their age group. The session included practical health checks, such as measurements of each student’s height, weight, and blood group tests.
This initiative aims to empower adolescents with essential knowledge about their health and well-being.
