A technical fault in the 66/33KV, 10 MVA Power Transformer at the Tuensang Sub-station has disrupted power supply to Tuensang, Noklak, and Shamator districts. The incident occurred on 30 August 2024, affecting thousands of residents in these areas.
The Power Department, under the Transmission Division Mokokchung, is working diligently to rectify the issue. According to Er. Hekaito Assumi, the department has implemented an emergency arrangement to supply power from an existing 5 MVA transformer. However, this temporary solution will necessitate frequent load restrictions until the 10 MVA Power Transformer is fully restored and charged.

The Power Department has urged consumers in the affected districts to bear with the inconvenience as they work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. The department is committed to restoring full power supply at the earliest, ensuring minimal disruption to daily life.

The temporary measures are designed to mitigate the impact, but full restoration is the priority.
