On August 13, an oil tanker carrying 12,000 litres of diesel met with an accident in Pfutsero’s Forest Colony. The tanker, with the registration number NL 07 AA 1461, was en route to Kezo fuel station when it rolled down a road due to loose soil. The incident occurred around 2:30 pm and resulted in a fire. The fire brigade, assisted by the Assam Rifles, police, and civilians, managed to control the flames within two hours. Fortunately, there were no human casualties. The tanker tumbled about 20 feet, damaging electricity wires and a nearby godown containing food items. The driver sustained minor injuries. While the truck was severely damaged, one of the cargo chambers remained intact but was leaking diesel.
