The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has recently issued a strong appeal to the Principal Director of Health & Family Welfare in Nagaland, urging the cancellation of the Special Recruitment Drive for 280 posts. This move comes in solidarity with the Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) and the Nagaland Medical Students’ Association (NMSA), who have been advocating for fair and transparent recruitment practices.
The AKM’s letter emphasizes the need to adhere to established norms for recruitment through the Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) and the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (NSSB). By doing so, they aim to ensure that all qualified aspirants have an equal opportunity to compete for the vacant positions. This stance is rooted in the belief that open recruitment based on laid-down rules will be more just and beneficial for all applicants.
The AKM also expressed its support for the immediate requisition of 329 posts to NPSC/NSSB. This call is part of a broader effort to maintain transparency and fairness in the recruitment process. By advocating for these changes, the AKM seeks to uphold the principles of equal opportunity and merit-based selection.

In a recent development, the CTAN had similarly demanded the cancellation of the Special Recruitment Drive and the immediate requisition of these posts. This collective effort underscores the importance of fair recruitment practices in ensuring that deserving candidates are given a chance to serve the state.
The AKM’s appeal highlights the need for sensible analysis of the demands put forward by various associations. By standing in solidarity with NMSA, they urge the state government to maintain status quo and recruit vacant posts through NPSC-CTSE, ensuring equal opportunity for all eligible candidates.
