Three beneficiaries of the Aspirational Block Programme (ABP) from Nagaland, along with their spouses, have been invited by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to witness the 78th Independence Day celebration in New Delhi. The invitees, Renung, Kughalu K, and AP Tsupan, were selected from the ABP launched in January 2023, which covers 500 blocks nationwide. Renung and her self-help group ‘Limreh’ from Kiusam block in Kiphire district have benefited significantly from the programme by establishing a ‘Weaving and Tailoring Centre’ that provides training and generates income through traditional and non-traditional products. Kughalu K from Emlomi village in Zunheboto district has contributed to his village’s development through the MGNREGA scheme and serves as the general secretary of the Village Development Board Association. AP Tsupan of Thonoknyu aspirational block in Noklak district is a beneficiary of the PM-KISAN scheme, which supports his agricultural endeavours and livelihood.
