On 20 August 2024, MGM College’s Health and Sanitation Committee organised a seminar and poster-making competition to raise awareness about Dengue fever. The event, held in the college auditorium, was part of the Anti-Dengue Awareness campaign themed “Fight the Bite, Beat Dengue.”
Miss Sangeeta Kumari, the Convener of the committee, led the seminar as the resource person. She provided an insightful presentation on the causes, effects, and preventive measures necessary to combat Dengue fever. Miss Kumari emphasised the crucial role of community involvement in adopting preventive strategies to reduce the disease’s transmission.

The campaign also included a poster-making competition that attracted enthusiastic participation from students. The posters showcased creative expressions and messages, reflecting the students’ understanding and commitment to Dengue prevention. Cash prizes were awarded to the top participants: Mr. Piwoto V. Aye of the 1st semester secured the 1st position, while Mr. Manzen P. Konyak, also of the 1st semester, took the 2nd position, recognising their outstanding contributions.
The seminar and competition were well-received, marking an important step in promoting health awareness and proactive measures against Dengue fever within the MGM College community.
