The Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) and the Ralan Area Students’ Union (RASU) have strongly condemned the absence of teachers at Yanpha Government Middle School in Wokha district. A recent social media video highlighted the issue, with students and parents expressing despair over the lack of teachers. LSU wrote to the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, stating that this dereliction of duty has compromised students’ education. RASU also highlighted persistent teacher absenteeism in government schools under Ralan Area, leading to poor enrollment and high drop-out rates. Both unions demand an inquiry and disciplinary action against erring teachers.
