Kisetong Village Students' Union champions rural libraries for community development

On August 27, 2024, the Kisetong Village Students’ Union (KVSU) organized a seminar to emphasize the crucial role of rural libraries in promoting knowledge and community development. The event, themed “Importance of Rural Library,” brought together community members and students to discuss the vital functions of these institutions.

K. Rothrongki Sangtam, Patron and Proprietor of Trinity School Kiphire and former President of KVSU, was the keynote speaker. Sangtam underscored the significance of libraries as institutions that foster knowledge, enhance reading and writing skills, and provide access to lifelong learning opportunities. He also highlighted their role as social hubs that bring communities together, cultivating a love for reading and promoting social cohesion.

The seminar began with a welcome address by the Executive Chairman of KVSU and an invocation by Pastor KBL. Thsikichum Sangtam, President of KVSU, expressed gratitude to all participants and attendees for making the event a resounding success.
