The Integrated Development Society (IDS) recently launched CiTY BARN, a health centre and innovation project by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Nagaland. The launch event took place at CiTY BARN located below Akum Imlong school on GHSS Road in Tuensang.
Special Guest H. Berimong, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Tuensang, emphasized CiTY BARN’s commitment to supporting young people in their health journey. He highlighted that this initiative is both a responsibility and an opportunity to connect them to the right channels, creating a safe space for discussion and continuously adapting to their needs to make a significant impact.
Berimong underscored the necessity of fostering an environment where young people feel safe to ask questions and seek help, encouraging open dialogue and helping reduce stigmatization associated with health issues. He emphasized that the community and churches should also come together to remove stigmatization and help the younger generation access CiTY BARN’s services, underscoring that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
