To enhance community preparedness and resilience against natural and man-made disasters, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) of Kiphire collaborated with the 12th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to conduct a comprehensive Community Awareness Program on August 24, 2024. The event took place at the Pungro Village Council Hall, aiming to educate citizens on effective disaster response techniques.
The program saw active participation from various stakeholders, including Village Disaster Management Authorities (VDMA) from Vongti, New Vongti, Jenny, and Tekevong villages. Representatives from youth and women groups, the Students Union, Nagaland Village Guards, and church workers also attended the event. This collaborative effort underscores the importance of community involvement in disaster management.

During the program, the 12th Battalion NDRF provided detailed demonstrations and training sessions on emergency response techniques. The Community Awareness Program was part of ongoing initiatives to strengthen community preparedness against various types of disasters.
