Kudecho Khamo, Advisor for CAWD and Taxes, addressed rural women at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall in Chozuba, Phek district on 30 August 2024. The event marked the conclusion of the “Skill Development for Rural Women Through Mobile Skill Morung” programme, organised by the Department of Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship.
Khamo emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship for rural women, highlighting the need to shift from traditional job preferences due to limited government positions. He encouraged trainees to launch their own businesses, potentially boosting the economy and creating employment opportunities. Khamo advised diligence, resilience, and openness to learning for business growth.
The Advisor stressed understanding customer preferences, focusing on quality, convenient timing, and creating a customer-friendly brand. Effective financial management and discipline were underscored as crucial for building trust and achieving rewarding outcomes.

Savio Visa, Additional Director of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, discussed challenges faced by rural women in gaining skills. He introduced Mobile Skill Morung as part of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing training in baking and tailoring across various regions. Visa urged participants to utilise their skills for positive change and economic growth.
Khrukulu Lohe, representing trainees, expressed gratitude for the enriching baking experience, covering over 10 recipes during the two-week programme. She encouraged support for their future ventures.
Vezota Rhakho, Deputy Chairperson of Chozuba Town Council, encouraged full utilisation of acquired skills. Sekhosayi Vero, Employment Officer from Phek, facilitated the programme. Besuvoto Rhakho, Pastor of Christian Revival Church, offered the invocation prayer, while Rukuzo Rhakho, Chaplain of Police Church, delivered the benediction.
