Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has once again addressed the topic of an opposition-less government in Nagaland and the formation of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) in relation to bringing peace and resolving the Naga Political Issue.
During the Kohima PDA coordination meeting for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha General Election, Rio discussed the need to create an environment that allows people to thrive while attracting investors to the state. He believes that by fostering peace and stability, Nagaland can create new opportunities and avenues for growth and development.
The Chief Minister expressed his hope that the forthcoming election would be conducted peacefully, with the people supporting the consensus candidate. He reiterated his government’s commitment to finding a resolution to the unresolved Naga issue while maintaining that his party would adhere to Christian principles.

Rio affirmed the PDA’s alignment with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the centre. He also informed the gathering that he would be travelling to Manipur on April 20 to campaign for the Naga People’s Front (NPF) candidate contesting the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
Dr. Chumben Murry, the PDA consensus candidate, discussed the role that the 18th house of the parliament will play in addressing the Naga Political Issue. He acknowledged that politicians cannot directly participate in the talks but emphasised the importance of projecting the views and aspirations of the people by raising the issue in Parliament.

Dr. Murry mentioned the various initiatives undertaken by the current government to bring peace, development, and empowerment to the people of Nagaland. He highlighted the government’s efforts in implementing various programmes and policies aimed at improving the lives of the citizens.
As Nagaland prepares for the 2024 Lok Sabha General Election, the state’s political landscape remains focused on the goals of bringing peace, resolving the Naga Political Issue, and fostering an environment conducive to growth and development.
