Higgsfield AI, a startup founded by Alex Mashrabov, the former head of generative AI at Snap Inc., has unveiled its first mobile app called Diffuse. This innovative app allows users to create personalized AI-generated videos from text prompts and selfies, offering a more accessible alternative to OpenAI’s recently announced Sora text-to-video model.
Diffuse utilizes Higgsfield’s proprietary text-to-video model to generate realistic human characters that resemble the user and can be inserted into various video scenarios. The app features a built-in Prompt Builder, enabling users to craft original video content using text, images, and reference videos.

Higgsfield AI has raised $8 million in seed funding led by Menlo Ventures to further develop its generative AI video technology. The company’s 16-person team developed the underlying AI models in under 9 months using a cluster of just 32 GPUs, showcasing their efficiency and expertise in the field.
