Wokha District Gears Up for Second Phase of Election Official Training

The Wokha district in Nagaland is preparing for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election, with the announcement of the second phase of training for polling officials as reported by The Morung Express.

Ajit Kumar Ranjan, the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Wokha, has released the schedule for the two-day training programme, set to take place on April 5 and 6, 2024, at the Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) in Wokha.

The training will be conducted in a systematic manner, with specific time slots and serial numbers assigned to each group of polling personnel. On April 5, presiding officers and first polling officers will undergo training at 9:30 am. Male presiding officers with serial numbers 1-170 and female presiding officers with serial numbers 1-80 will be trained alongside male first polling officers (1-220) and female first polling officers (1-117).

The following day, April 6, will see the training of second and third polling officers. Male second polling officers (1-219) and female second polling officers (1-86) will attend the session at 9:30 am, together with male third polling officers (1-205) and female third polling officers (1-90).

To ensure a smooth training process, polling officials and Grade IV personnel who have not yet submitted their passport-sized photographs and Form 12A (EDC Form) are required to do so during the second phase of training. However, Grade IV staff who have already submitted these documents are exempt from attending the training.

Departmental nodal officers have been tasked with informing the polling officials and Grade IV staff from their respective departments about the training schedule. This communication is crucial to ensure that all relevant personnel are aware of the training and can attend accordingly.

The second phase of training for polling officials in Wokha district is a vital step in preparing for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. By providing comprehensive training to presiding officers and polling officers, the district aims to ensure smooth and efficient polling processes on election day.
