Skill Development Program for Rural Women concludes in Niuland

On September 13, 2024, the valedictory function of the Skill Development of Rural Women through Mobile Skill Morung was held at the Town Hall in Niuland. This significant event marked the culmination of a program aimed at empowering rural women with essential skills.

The program was attended by Deputy Commissioner Niuland, Sara S Jamir, who expressed her gratitude to the Department of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship for bringing this initiative to Niuland district. Despite the district’s resource constraints, the program’s success was a testament to the department’s commitment to skill development.

In her speech, Deputy Commissioner Jamir emphasized the importance of self-reliance and economic development in the district and state. She urged the trainees to apply their newfound skills in practice and to train others, fostering a culture of self-employment. This, she believed, would significantly improve the economic and living conditions in the area.

During the ceremony, Jamir handed out toolkits and certificates to 25 trainees who had successfully completed the program. This gesture symbolized the recognition of their hard work and dedication.

The event was chaired by Officer in-Charge, WITI Chümoukedima, Ruyazelie Keyho. Employment Officer, Nibizo Nagi, delivered the closing remarks, wrapping up the function on a positive note.

This program not only equipped rural women with valuable skills but also inspired them to become agents of change in their communities. The initiative is a step towards a more self-sufficient and economically vibrant Niuland district.
