Nagaland's home-based entrepreneurs debut on Amazon platform

Products crafted by Nagaland’s home-based entrepreneurs have made their debut on Amazon, thanks to a groundbreaking partnership between YouthNet, the Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship (GAME), and Amazon. This initiative aims to empower small businesses and expand their reach through the global digital marketplace.

In its first phase, YouthNet facilitated a soft launch for over 60 women entrepreneurs, whose products are now available under the brand “Made in Nagaland.” This move is expected to transform local businesses by providing them with a global platform, unlocking new opportunities for sales and growth. The initiative focuses on equipping entrepreneurs with essential digital marketing skills and ensuring compliance with global standards, while also facilitating seamless online store setups.

At the heart of this initiative is the establishment of the YouthNet Incubation Centre’s Facilitation Cell, which supports entrepreneurs in onboarding their products to digital platforms like Amazon. By providing this critical support, the project aims to foster sustainable economic growth and create a thriving business ecosystem in Nagaland.

“We are excited about the opportunities this partnership brings to local entrepreneurs, especially women who are the backbone of many home-based businesses in Nagaland,” said Nunesenuo Chase, Director of YouthNet. “This marks the beginning of a new chapter; a transformative journey for our local entrepreneurs, who now have the tools and the global stage to showcase their products to the world,” added Neikepekho Shosahie, Manager of YouthNet Incubation Centre.

The programme plans to continue onboarding more entrepreneurs in the coming months, further strengthening Nagaland’s presence in the digital economy and setting a new benchmark for regional entrepreneurship. This initiative not only boosts local economic growth but also highlights the potential and talent of Nagaland’s entrepreneurs on a global scale.
