Rural women in Mangkolemba, Mokokchung, witnessed a dawn of new opportunities as the Mobile Skill Morung programme kicked off on 2 September 2024. The inaugural event, held at Town Hall Mangkolemba, marked a pivotal moment in skill development for women in rural areas, promising to bridge the urban-rural divide and foster economic growth.
Key officials graced the event, including ADC Mangkolemba, Moakumzuk Tzudir, who lauded the Department of Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship for implementing the programme. Tzudir encouraged participants to harness their newfound skills to carve out a more prosperous future for themselves and their communities. He expressed optimism that similar training initiatives would continue to tap into the economic potential of the region and the state.
Er. Imlisunep Ao, Principal of ITI Mokokchung, emphasised that this training programme was tailored specifically to address the unique challenges faced by rural women in the state. Ao underscored the significance of this initiative as a golden opportunity for women in rural areas to acquire new skills and enhance their job prospects. He voiced confidence that the training would empower rural women to unleash their full potential and make a positive impact on the social and economic development of the region.

Ao also urged participants to leverage the programme to become self-employed and achieve financial independence. The training provider introduced the programme to the participating women from various villages across the subdivision, outlining the diverse skills and opportunities that would be available.
