The Lotha Baptist Churches Association (LBCA) Delegates Meeting on 13th August 2024 at UBC Doyang in Wokha district decided by a majority vote that the LBCA (Majority group) would function independently. The Action Committee stated that this decision is in line with the Guwahati High Court Judgement and Order dated 11-12-2023, which considers internal disputes within the society.
The Committee warned against interference from individuals, groups, or associations, including the Nagaland Baptist Churches Council (NBCC). Despite reconciliation attempts since February 2023, the minority group remained noncommittal. The majority group constituted a 9-member committee for reconciliation but was derailed by a letter from the minority group. The NBCC was criticized for not intervening impartially.
