The KBA asserts that this practice violates Article 22 of the Constitution, which guarantees the right to legal representation of one’s choice. The association has taken up this issue with the Director General of Police (DGP) in Nagaland, urging action against erring officials. They have also warned their member advocates to cease such practices and encouraged reporting of any misconduct.
