Two landslides occurred on the road connecting Pungro and Mimi in Kiphire due to heavy rainfall. The landslides blocked the roadway entirely, causing debris and boulders to accumulate. Assam Rifles troops and a JCB operator worked to clear the landslides, with one landslide cleared and the second currently being cleared. The team is facing challenges due to ongoing rain and the threat of additional landslides. The road is critical for the sustenance of border villages such as Mimi, Kaha, Betang and Hakkumate.
