A certification programme was held on Wednesday at the NDHHDC Training Centre in Blue Hill Colony, Wokha, for weavers who completed a three-month training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) Short Term Training (STT) scheme. Organised by Charity Club Multipurpose Society with guidance from NEHHDC, Guwahati, 32 beneficiaries received certificates from Functional Manager DIC Wokha Mhabemo Lotha. The special guest commended the trainees’ dedication and urged them to apply their skills for income generation and self-employment.
General Secretary Charity Club highlighted the high demand for handloom but noted the district’s inability to meet it due to a lack of trained individuals. SDO Anuranjan Singh encouraged the trainees to market their products using the training centre as a production centre. Executive Bidyut Sharma advised connecting with NEHHDC for exhibitions and events. The programme was chaired by Renboni Ngullie with welcome address by Robin Enny and vote of thanks by Loreno Ezung.
